Welcome

Set Apart Church is an online non-denominational church that was established to reach out to ALL who are unable to attend church in the traditional setting; whether it be due to a mental or physical aliment, your work keeps you out on the road, or there are no churches in your area. We are a “church without walls.” No matter what the reasons are, the Lord can touch you right where you are at. We are a “church online” with weekly, relevant, online sermons. We are a “church without walls,” ministering the Word through Set Apart Church Online.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” – 1 Peter 2:9

Church Needs

We are in the process of forming a “Praise and Worship” band in order to minister through music. Before we are able to do so we will need to purchase a CCLI license and a CCLI streaming license. The cost is roughly $160.00 per year. If you feel impressed upon your heart to give we would be eternally grateful. If you would like to give any amount towards the licenses please feel free to do so by clicking here.

What is in Your Heart?

“But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.” – Matthew 5:17-19

Whatever we busy our time with, revolve our lives around, and consume our mind with will soon come penetrate our hearts. Are we consuming that of God’s best for us or are we filling our hearts with only artificial satisfactions of this world? Eventually what is in the heart will come to the surface. Whether good or bad it is for us to decide what we will fill our minds with. For us to live a life holy and pleasing unto the Lord we must decide to live a life set apart and directed by the Holy Spirit.

God Can

“For with God nothing will be impossible.” – Luke 1:37

For nothing is impossible with God. He will do what He says He will do and His word will stand the test of time. No matter the season you find yourself in, He is there ready and able. A mountain of problems, a storm that rages, winds of change, and friendships that end abruptly nothing is impossible with God. He will get you through no matter the obstacle you find yourself in.

Massiveness of God

This is what the Lord says:

“Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.
Where is the house you will build for me?
Where will my resting place be?
2 Has not my hand made all these things,
and so they came into being?”
declares the Lord.
“These are the ones I look on with favor:
those who are humble and contrite in spirit,
and who tremble at my word.” Isaiah 66:1-2

In this Scripture we see the massiveness of God in all His splendor. The largest building ever built can not contain Him. The box that we put around God limiting what we believe He can do, will not limit His ability to do as He pleases. Who can provide a large enough bed for Him so that He may rest His head? No one. He is. How great is our God in all His splendor.

He shows favor to the humble and those contrite in spirit who believe He is God. Arrogance or pride have no place in the presence of the Lord.

How great it is to know we serve such an awesome and understanding God who sees the heart of all. The Creator of this universe so expansive, still has the time to sit down and fellowship with us. How great He truly is.

Tongue Tamer

“With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.” James 3:9

How many times have you been so frustrated with someone that you uttered not-so-kind words, that when you think back to that time and place you feel terrible? Do you wish you could reel in those not-so-kind words? Once words roll off the tongue and find their way through our lips, it’s too late. The too late part isn’t so bad if the words we use are to lift up one’s spirit. But, when we use our words to shame others no good can ever come forth from that. We have all been guilty of this at some point in our lives, but God has given us the ability to be a tongue tamer. We are not able to tame this destructive part of our body separate from the Holy Spirit. A Holy Spirit directed life where Christ is at the center is the only way we can tame this dangerous weapon. With the help of the Lord we can learn to hold our tongue and use it when needed to encourage our brothers and sisters.

Let’s learn to be a “tongue tamer” because we will soon learn living with freedom over our tongue will allow for us to live a life at peace with others.

His Strength Alone

“ – But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.” II Cor. 1:9, NLT

“Thank Me for the difficulties in your life, since they provide protection from the idolatry of self-reliance.” – Young, Sarah. Jesus Calling: “Enjoying Peace in His Presence”, May 10, Thomas Nelson.

Meditation: Self-reliance is an attitude of independence. Self-reliance is akin to self-righteousness. You often embrace this perspective because it is a comfortable position of thinking you are in control. This is a false reality. Life is unpredictable. “Man devises his plans, but God directs his steps.” Prov. 16:9. Everything comes from God’s hand – your blessings and your adversities. Thank God for the difficulties which turn your reliance from self to Him. Abandon the idea of your own strength. Thank God for destroying the idolatry of false self-righteousness to embrace His grace. When you are weak, Jesus is strong. Weakness is not a fault, but necessary for GRACE to fully operate. Weakness allows God to carry you. ~ Reader submission

Prayer: Dear Savior, how I need your strength. I need it in blessings and difficulties. Help me Lord, to surrender my thoughts to your ever guiding hand of mercy.
